My Back Is Out And It Hurts

But the timing for the hot tub is great.
Brad was here at 7:30 to make sure everything was all set up for the install.
Carlos crane was here at 8:30 with the tub.

Pretty tight fit getting down our driveway.

Carlos use to crane pianos for me but now he has his son working the 35 ton crane.
He's on the 50 ton. The kid did a good job but I had been looking forward to seeing Carlos.

the kid was fast like his dad.

He'd been on the property for less than 10 minutes at this point.

Yikes.
Ruth and Brad were inside the house at this point so I yelled thru the doorway that they should stay out of the bedroom area for a few minutes while the tub was overhead.
Just in case.

Everything was great.
The kid has his dads talents.

The only thing that pissed me off was that I asked him to turn around
and drive up the road out of the yard. He didn't.
The hot tub guy said he was in control and knew how to back out safely.
I told him that wasn't why I wanted him to turn around.
These big trucks shudder going up the hill  in reverse and chew up the driveway.
Sure enough.
The kid went off the driveway and the truck spun it's wheels(shuddered) most of the way up.
I'll have to get Nash out here to clean and level it out. Damn.

Anyways.
We had a great hot tub tonight .
My back feels better and we both love out new Arctic Spa.
So happy we bought from these guys. They were great.

March Has Been A Busy Month

Daisy definitely needs to stop showing those defiant female Moir traits.
It's like she's saying "This sign is just a suggestion".

This is the second happiest day of Carries life.
She just bought a 2016 outlander with 8000 kilometres for an unbelievable good price.
The happiest day was today when after some frank conversation
the seller agreed to give her all her money back.
The car had been a write off after an accident and he didn't disclose that when she bought it.
She just spent a lot of money trying to fix an overheating problem due to the accident and Mitsubishi cancels their warranty after a write off.  YIKES.
I'm glad this fellow was honourable enough to take it back without a fight.

So Ruth disappeared the other day and I couldn't find her anywhere.
I finally saw her in the North Pasture trying to clean up the property.
We're thinking we need a goat to clean up this mess.

She's busy at the other end of the property so I decided to take advantage of of some quiet time.
Nothing like a glass of wine while relaxing by a blazing fire on a warm spring afternoon.

One day last week we decided to clear up the bush by the driveway.
The previous owner had 4 motorcycle frames overgrown in the cedars.
He told me they were art pieces and had been there for about 20 years.

You had to look really hard to see them .
What a mess.

Between the two of us we spent about 4 hours cutting away the branches
that had entwined themselves thru the motorcycles.
Ruth spent most of the time at this project.

Ellie has decided that she wants to be a cat and made Carrie walk her on a leash.

Anything to make her happy.
She's got quite an imagination.

Here the cat has decided to try running away.
Hahaha

So the house is getting close to being a home.
It's almost our anniversary so we bought ourselves something we have been wishing for.
Now all we need to complete the log home is a grand piano.

Carrie's Birthday is Coming Up

So I think that I am still 35 until I look around I see my offsprings hovering around the 40 mark.
Unbelievable. Where has the time gone.
Carrie's birthday is next Tuesday but Ruth and I are driving to Arizona that day.
We decided to start the festivities this Tuesday instead.
Balloons , dinner and Angel Food Cake. It's a party.
Ruth set the kids up to make birthday cards for her after school.
So cute.

It was a great birthday celebration.
Ruth always works so hard to make things nice.

She made a Styrofoam  cake just to hold the candles.
It's perfect. with these many candles the real cake would be ruined.
The kids helped light the candles.

It's always fun till someone gets hurt.
Ellie got a little too close to one of the matches.

All was forgotten when she got to help Carrie blow out some candles.

So the MUTT is looking unusually ratty these days.
She needs a good bath and hair cut.

Carrie and I went into town today and picked up our new washer and dryer.
I can't wait to try them out.

I think the MUTT is going to look and smell great.

UNBELIEVABLE.
It's March 9th in the Okanagan.
We are supposed to be suntanning by now.

I took Daisy out for her evening constitution at 8:30 and had this to contend with.

I always close the gates for night.
Not fun walking up the drive in this crap.

If this keeps up much longer I'm going to install the electric gates sooner than I had planned.

Even Daisy was more than happy to head back to the log home and hunker down for the night.

I've Got To Become More Vigilant With My Blog

So I am really busy these days and have gotten a little lazy with my blog.
That has to change.
I count on this blog to tell me what I have been up to the day after.
Last Friday I moved this $85000.  Mason and Hamlin Grand from my
friends condo which he is selling to his new house on the lake.

I built an 8 wheel dolly for the job. This piano weighs over 1000 pounds.
Three of the guys from Nathen's Moving were here to assist. Great movers.
Everything went so smoothly. I was worried for nothing.

We got it into the new house and set up within three hours.
The guys were great. Best moving company in the Okanagan.

So because we were in the Mission area I thought it was a good time to run up
to our old home and get some mail the new owners were holding for me.
I parked at the bottom of the driveway and let Daisy out.
She thought we were moving back in and ran up the drive to the front gate like a rocket.
She stood here waiting for me to catch up. So cute.

I always loved this parklike setting.

I miss this yard but the farm will eventually look just as nice.

So on Saturday I finished doing the floors in the master bathroom.
All I need to do now is finish the shower tiling and baseboards.

I spent about 2 hours on the flooring and kept thinking there was something wrong with my eyes.
Something didn't seem right and finally I happened to notice that the right lens of my glasses was missing. Unbelievable. Haha.

Sunday morning Ruth made up a nice brunch for the kids to come to but they forgot.
They showed up about 20 minutes after we gave them a reminder.
I love these meals on Ruth's new grill.
